"YOU MAY NOT KNOW"
Written by: Michelle Anne Brandes, sister of Nick Brandes
Some people may not know,
How the days go by so slow.
How awful it must truly be,
To always, be away from ones family.
Being in a place only the devil could stand,
Everywhere you go is just sun and sand.
Having to be on guard every hour of every day,
Free time is only there when in need to pray.

Some people may not know the risk that a person is taking,
To risk his life for someone's decision-making.
Fighting for his country and his pride,
Watching the horror when two different worlds collide.
Making the friends who you know will have your back,
Watching, waiting close for the attack.
Hiding from bullets, which he'll never do,
He runs through them in order to save you.
Some people may not know what fear the war can bring,
He know he's in the middle of the whole thing.
So the next time you decide to pray,
Pray for him wish the war away.
