VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED!!
Grattan Township Parks and Recreation needs a group of volunteers to assist in the completion of the development of SEELEY CREEK PARK, our first township park. The park site is located on Old Belding Road between the township hall and Grattan Center
The township requested a grant from the Michigan Land Trust Foundation for development of a parking lot, trails, a gazebo, boardwalks and signage at the Seeley Creek Park. The grant was approved, but the bids to accomplish the construction came in far greater than approved funding. So some sweat equity will be required to finish the project in the summer of 2014, instead of completion by commercial contractor.
The Parks and Recreation Committee is planning a meeting of all interested persons, scout groups, school groups, church groups, retirees and residents to begin our task in March. If you would be willing to donate time, equipment or other resources that may help to complete this project, please contact the township office at 616-691-8450 and we will put your name on a list of potential volunteers for this project. A member from the Parks and Rec Committee will contact you to set up a meeting date.
